If you go to ebay.com and then go to "community" (top right of screen), and then "workshops/discussion forums" there is a Purse/Hand bag forum. There are people who visit the forum that are really into certain designers and seem more than happy to help prevent someone buy a fake. If you post the auction item number and ask people there to give their opinions on authenticity, someone very likely will answer it.
I just bought a pewter coloured kate spade Taryn sidney wallet, that I got advice from on the forum. I got it yesterday and I believe it is authentic. Good luck and one piece of advice would be to make sure the seller indicates if they have a return policy. And also it is illegal for them to sell fakes and list them as authentic, so if you get something you believe is fake you can try to get your money back and as well that forum listed above is helpful in giving advice in that regard. Also, one thing I have found helpful to remember is to not bid until really considering item just because it looks good and it is ending soon. Something else will always come along if you are not totally sure.
